How PawCare handles your data
Overview
PawCare is a local-first application. All pet data you enter — pet profiles, medications, schedules, and related records — is stored locally on your device using an SQLite database. We do not have access to this data.
Data You Provide
Pet information: Names, species, breeds, birth dates, medical notes, and photos you add to the app.
Medication and health records: Medication schedules, dose logs, and other health-related entries.
Account information (optional): If you choose to create an account for household sharing features, we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password.
Data Collected Automatically
Advertising data: We use Google AdMob to display non-intrusive banner ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Crash and diagnostic data: Standard platform crash reporting may be collected by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) as part of their respective platform services.
How We Use Your Data
Pet data: Stored locally to power app features. Never transmitted unless you explicitly enable household sharing.
Account data: Used solely for authentication and household sharing functionality.
Advertising data: Used by Google AdMob to serve relevant ads. We do not sell your personal data.
Household Sharing (Optional)
If you create an account and enable household sharing, pet data you mark as “shared” is synced to our servers to enable multi-device access within your household. Shared data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely.
You can disable sharing for any pet at any time, and your data will remain only on your local device.
Data Retention
Local data: Remains on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
Account data: Retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes all server-side data.
Third-Party Services
Google AdMob: For serving advertisements. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Play Services: For app distribution and updates.
This website uses Umami, a privacy-focused, open-source analytics tool. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across sites.
Children's Privacy
PawCare does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is intended for general audiences managing pet care.
Your Rights
You have the right to access all your data (it’s stored locally on your device), delete your data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app, delete your account and all associated server-side data from within the app, and opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.
Changes
If this privacy policy changes in the future, the updated version will be made available within the app and on this website.
